Drew Sharp of the Detroit Free Press writes that one result of the University of Michigan’s decision to deny Demar Dorsey admission is a perception that there is a developing gap between university officials and head football coach Rich Rodriguez.
The real issue is whether Dorsey’s status indicates a widening gulf between the administrative hierarchy and Rich Rodriguez.
The admissions office’s decision is not just a reflection of what the university thinks of Dorsey. It’s also a reflection — on several levels, you must believe — on what it thinks of Rodriguez and whether he’s targeting recruits the university doesn’t want any connection with.
