Magglio Ordonez Deemed 'Day To Day' After Examination

Jason Bell and Alex DiFilippo report on MLB.com that Tigers outfielder Magglio Ordonez was examined by the team’s doctor on Friday and will remain out of the team's starting lineup due to left oblique soreness. The team’s trainer, Kevin Rand, admitted some concern about the amount of time Ordonez has missed but tried to focus on the positives of the examination.

"We treated him last night, and he’s a little bit better today," Rand said Friday afternoon. "He’s still not the way we want him, but he’s a lot closer today. He feels a lot better about where he’s at."

Ordonez was examined by team physician Jeff Michaels once the Tigers returned home Thursday night and was diagnosed with general muscle soreness, nothing pulled or strained in a specific muscle
