Will DeMarcus Cousins Slip To The Pistons?

New, 1 comment

Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press writes that a trade between the Sacramento Kings and Philadelphia 76ers could open a path for the Detroit Pistons to select coveted Kentucky big man DeMarcus Cousins with the No. 7 pick in the draft.

The Wizards take John Wall with the No. 1 pick, and the Sixers, needing a big man now that Dalembert is gone, could go with Derrick Favors at No. 2. The Nets take Evan Turner at No. 3, the Timberwolves go with Wesley Johnson at No. 4, and the Kings, with Dalembert in tow, can pick a wing such as Wake Forest’s Al-Farouq Aminu at No. 5.

Then you could have the Warriors — with Don Nelson’s preference for strong-passing big men — taking Greg Monroe.

That would leave Cousins for the Pistons, if the Sixers or Warriors don’t decide to upset the apple cart and take him.

Despite the trade it’s difficult to see Cousins getting past Sacramento at No. 5, although crazier things have happened.
