Pistons Shopping Tayshaun Prince, Trying To Trade Up?

New, 2 comments

According to multiple reports, the Detroit Pistons are attempting to shop forward Tayshaun Prince.

First, from Ted Kulfan of the Detroit News.

One popular rumor has the Pistons sending Tayshaun Prince to Sacramento before the June 24 draft.
Depending on what report you read, sending Prince to the Kings either brings the Pistons Sacramento's first-round pick (No. 5 overall), or maybe in a larger deal also enables the Pistons to acquire Andres Nocioni , a 6-7 forward.

Nocioni is the type of physical player that Pistons president Joe Dumars covets. But he's 30 years old. Last season, he averaged 8.5 points and 3.0 rebounds in 78 games on a bad Sacramento team. That's not enough from a guy averaging just over $7 million on a five-year, $38 million deal (two seasons left).

Chad Ford also discussed that potential trade recently.

This deal can't happen as written now, though, because Nocioni was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers today.  One rumor involving Detroit and Philadelphia has already floated to the surface, including this one from sportswriter Michael Tillery on twitter.

Sixers reportedly turn down #7 Tayshaun Prince and Charlie Villanueva for #2 and Elton Brand. PHI wanted more.less than a minute ago via TweetDeck

Perhaps Nocioni could still wind up in Detroit after all.

For everything Pistons, head over to SB Nation's Detroit Bad Boys.
