Jacksonville State will receive $600,000 to play at Spartan Stadium against Michigan State in the 2014 season, according to the Anniston Star. MSU and JSU finalized the game last week, giving the Spartans their third non-conference opponent for 2014. Here is what the 2014 non-conference slate currently looks like:
↵at West Virginia
vs. Eastern Michigan
vs. Jacksonville State
Notice that there is no Notre Dame on MSU's schedule in 2014. That is because the Spartans and Fighting Irish are taking a break from their series in 2014 and 2015. During these two seasons MSU will play a home-and-home series with West Virginia before ND returns to the schedule in 2016.
↵Despite ND's return, MSU has a home-and-home series lined up with Alabama for 2016 and 2017. What's more, the 2017 schedule includes a game at South Florida (USF comes to East Lansing in 2013), meaning the Spartans will host Alabama and Western Michigan and play at Notre Dame and USF. Talk about a tough schedule, and that is before Big Ten play even begins.
