Sources: Andy Oliver To Start Friday For Tigers

The Tigers weren't scheduled to need a 5th starter to replace Rick Porcello until Saturday, but it appears they will make a move for the Friday series opener against the Braves in Atlanta. This is according to Jon Morosi:

#Tigers plan to call up Andy Oliver to start Friday vs. #Braves, source says. #Detroit #MLB

Oliver was among the speculated names when Porcello was demoted Sunday, so this isn't too much of a surprise. Oliver is a 22-year-old lefty, who was selected in the 2nd round of last year's draft.

In 14 starts at Double-A Erie this season, Oliver is 6-4 with a 3.61 ERA in 77.1 innings pitched. He has 70 strikeouts opposite 25 walks and opponents are hitting .253 off him.
