Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress reports, via Twitter, that the Pistons like Ed Davis, a power forward from North Carolina, and that they will make him the seventh overall selection unless DeMarcus Cousins is still on the board, which Givony says is "not happening." Barring an unforeseen trade or some drastic shake-up by the teams picking ahead of them, Davis will be the Pistons’ pick.
DraftExpress lists Davis as nearly 6’10" in shoes. The 21-year-old sophomore averaged 12.9 points and 9.4 rebounds last season, and shot 57.8% from the field.
Brian Packey of Detroit Bad Boys isn’t thrilled with the news, saying Davis "isn't the impact player they [the Pistons] need." A reader on DBB scouted Davis here earlier this offseason.
