Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - Miguel Cabrera and Brennan Boesch hit consecutive two-run doubles in the first inning, helping the Detroit Tigers take a 7-5 win over the Minnesota Twins in the opener of a three-game series.
The Tigers scored five runs in the first two innings off Twins starter Francisco Liriano to support Jeremy Bonderman (4-5), who got the win after allowing four runs on nine hits in 5 1/3 innings.
Ryan Raburn had two hits and two RBI for Detroit, which has won two in a row.
Liriano (6-6) allowed six runs on nine hits in six-plus innings.
