Tigers Win Series With 12-6 Victory Over The Indians

--Bless You Boys is the place to be with further reaction on this game.

Detroit, MI (Sports Network) - Magglio Ordonez hit a three-run homer and drove in five, as the Detroit Tigers handled the Cleveland Indians, 12-6, in the rubber match of a three-game series at Comerica Park.

Ordonez added a double and triple, and finished a single shy of the cycle, while Miguel Cabrera had a solo shot and knocked in two for Detroit, which took the final two games of the set and has won three of its last five. Rookie sensation Austin Jackson turned in a 4-for-6 game with three doubles and two runs scored.

Umpire Jim Joyce was behind the plate one day after working first base and mistakenly calling Jason Donald safe on an infield single with two outs in the ninth inning that denied Tigers starter Armando Galarraga a perfect game. Joyce admitted to the mistake and apologized to the pitcher after the game.

Galarraga presented the team's lineup card to Joyce prior to Thursday's contest and the veteran umpire was fighting back tears as his fellow umpires gathered at home plate.

Brad Thomas (2-0) picked up the win after getting the final two outs of the sixth inning. Detroit starter Rick Porcello allowed six runs -- three earned -- on seven hits with a walk and struck out two over 5 1/3 innings.
