Dontrelle Willis' return to the National League was a good one. After struggling mightily with the Tigers, forcing the team to designate him for assignment and trade him to the Diamondbacks, Willis went six innings and didn't give up a single run in his first start with Arizona. Willis did walk four batters and allowed five hits, but at the end of the day he didn't give up any runs.
↵One thing Willis hasn't really struggled with in the past is his hitting (compared to other pitchers, anyways). He didn't get to show off his hitting skills too much in the American League, but last night he went 1-2 for the D-backs and scored a run. Nothing like helping your own cause, which he didn't do too often in the batter's box or on the mound for the Tigers.
