Senate Leader Joins Galarraga Bandwagon

Another politician has voiced his support of Tigers pitcher Armando Galarraga.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid chimed in his two cents on the “imperfect game” lauding the actions of both umpire Jim Joyce and Galarraga:

“The 28-year-old player had just summoned the strength to throw the game of his life, but then somehow summoned the grace not to throw the tantrum he was entitled to”

And for Joyce:

“He didn’t make excuses. He didn’t hire a p.r. (public relations) firm, or run television ads defending the indefensible or try to spin his mistake,” Reid said. “He just owned up to it.”

Last night, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez also praised Joyce and Galarraga’s handling of the situation. Galarraga is a native of Venezuela.
