The Tigers continued their work on the second day of the MLB Draft by selecting lefty Drew Smyly from Arkansas with the 68th overall pick, as well as catcher Rob Brantly 100th overall. MLB.com says Smyly has "a four-pitch mix" and can become "a quality lefty specialist on a big league staff." The Nationals made Brantly the 48th pick in 2008, but he never signed with them.
