The agent of guard Raymond Felton is going to reach out to the Pistons to see if they would have any interest in signing his client, reports Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press.
Dutt confirmed an earlier Associated Press report that seven teams have contacted him on the first day of free agency about Felton, who was the No. 5 pick in the 2005 draft. Felton is coming off a season where he averaged 12.1 points and 5.6 assists for the Charlotte Bobcats.
The Pistons have thought about Felton and are in the market for a starter at the point with the plan of moving Rodney Stuckey into more of a combo guard roll.
Ellis mentions in a later part of the article that Felton may want more than the mid-level exception, which is all the Pistons can offer since they are over the salary cap. The same goes for Brendan Haywood, although he is apparently a candidate for a sign-and-trade.
