When the All-Star Game rosters first came out, Tigers fans thought both Justin Verlander and Brennan Boesch were snubbed after being left off the American League team. Well, one of those players will get to be part of the All-Star Game after all:
Justin Verlander has been added to the AL All-Star squad. It marks his third career selection to the All-Star Game.
Verlander ended up getting added to the AL team as a result of the new rule that makes starting pitchers on the Sunday before the game ineligible. Since both CC Sabathia and Trevor Cahill started today, they were made ineligible for Tuesday's game, opening up spots for Verlander and Jered Weaver.
