The Michigan Stadium renovation is starting to wind down, and as a result, the general public will get a chance to tour the new structure on the east side this Wednesday. Private tours for people interested in premium seating have been held for the last year or so, but this is the first time the new structure will be open to the general public. Not only does U-M want to give its fans a chance to look at the new luxury suites and all that, but I'm sure they also are hoping to make a sale or two from the tour.
↵It's important to note that this tour will not allow you to roam freely around the stadium, as some construction is still going on.
↵↵↵The east side structure will be open to the public, and the only accessible entry point will be on the south side of the stadium through Gate 2. Once inside, fans will proceed to the steps or elevators in the southeast tower to gain access to the structure. There will be no access to the east side upper concourse, east side lower concourse or west side structure. Free parking will be available at Pioneer High School.
↵
The tour will run from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., so if you're interested in looking at the new luxury suites, Wednesday is your chance.
↵Also, if you want to see what the new Big House looks like in NCAA Football 11, it comes out officially tomorrow. If you can't wait, though, EA Sports did post before and after pictures of Michigan Stadium in NCAA 10 compared to NCAA 11, so if you want to check those out, go here.
