Detroit Red Wings forward Dan Cleary is currently training in southern California in hopes that it will better prepare him for next season.↵
Cleary had surgery in the off-season to repair two meniscus tears in his left knee, which capped an injury-plagued season.↵
"My knee is feeling better," he said Wednesday. "I'm going to be training with T.R. Goodman, doing all kinds of stuff. I want to come back and have a great season. I'm excited about the year -- I think we've got a really good, really competitive team."↵
Cleary only played 64 games last year due to various injuries, mostly because of a separated shoulder suffered in December. He still managed 15 goals and 34 points and was one of the Red Wings' best forwards upon his return.
