Armando Galarraga's Start With Mud Hens Pushed Back To Today

Possibly due to his appearance at the ESPYs on Wednesday, Armando Galarraga's start with the Mud Hens was pushed back from Thursday to today. When he was sent down to Toledo before the All-Star break, the plan was for him to start on July 15, which makes sense since he is scheduled to return to the Tigers' rotation on Tuesday, July 20. He will instead not get to pitch for Toledo until today, however, meaning his start on Tuesday with the Tigers will come only four days later.

In case you were wondering what the rotation looks like right now, here is the current schedule:

Friday at Cleveland: Max Scherzer

↵

Saturday at Cleveland (Game 1): Justin Verlander

↵

Saturday at Cleveland (Game 2): Rick Porcello

↵

Sunday at Cleveland: Andy Oliver

↵

Monday vs. Texas: Jeremy Bonderman

↵

Tuesday vs. Texas: Armando Galarraga

It will be interesting to see how the rotation shakes out after all of this, because the Tigers obviously aren't going forward with six starting pitchers. If I had to guess, just based on recent performances, I'd say Oliver ends up getting sent down to Toledo. That, of course, assumes that Porcello pitches respectably when he takes the mound tomorrow for his first start with Detroit since June 19.
