Injury Bug Nails Tigers In Big Way

Two Tigers left tonight's game against the Blue Jays with injuries.

Magglio Ordonez fractured his right ankle while sliding into home in the bottom of the third inning. He was already dealing with a sore ankle, and now he is expected to be out six to eight weeks because of this injury. Ramon Santiago came into the game to take Ordonez's place as the designated hitter.

A couple innings later, Carlos Guillen left the game with a right calf strain. Scott Sizemore was forced to take his spot at second base, leaving the Tigers' dugout a little empty. Only Alex Avila and Johnny Damon are left on the bench, and Damon wasn't in the lineup tonight because he is sick.

Currently, the Tigers trail the Blue Jays by a score of 3-2 in the bottom of the seventh inning. It would obviously be nice if they could come back and win this one, but regardless of the outcome of tonight's game, there is a ton of concern about the Tigers going forward with Ordonez now out for quite some time and Guillen injured as well.
