Carlos Guillen Leaves Game With Right Calf Strain

As if losing Magglio Ordonez tonight for six to eight weeks wasn't bad enough, the Tigers got more bad news when Carlos Guillen left the game with what is being called a right calf strain.

Guillen came out of the game after the fifth inning rather mysteriously at first. Everything seemed to be going fine for Guillen, who made a very nice behind-the-back play earlier in the game. Then he wasn't out there at second base during the top of the sixth inning after straining his right calf, and how long this injury is expected to sideline him is unknown.

Scott Sizemore, who was called up earlier this week to help fill in for Brandon Inge, went into the game for Guillen and hit an RBI-single in the bottom of the sixth. That leaves just Alex Avila and a sick Johnny Damon on the bench, as Ramon Santiago had to go in for Ordonez at DH.
