Jeremy Bonderman Roughed Up In 8-1 Tigers Loss

Detroit, MI (Sports Network) - Russell Branyan and Casey Kotchman each belted three-run homers to help Seattle beat Detroit, 8-1, in the finale of a three- game series at Comerica Park.

Aiming for his fourth straight complete game amid swirling trade rumors, Seattle starter Cliff Lee (8-3) gave up three hits in the first inning, including an RBI single by Detroit first baseman Miguel Cabrera, but settled down to strike out a season-high 11 batters over eight full frames.

Franklin Gutierrez and Jose Lopez both added a run-scoring single for the Mariners, who snapped a three-game losing streak.

Tigers starter Jeremy Bonderman (4-6) yielded seven runs on nine hits before he and catcher Gerald Laird were ejected by home plate umpire CB Bucknor in the fifth inning for arguing balls and strikes.

Detroit has lost three of its last five games.
