The rosters for this year's MLB All-Star Game were just announced on TBS, and surprisingly only two Tigers were included on the American League team.
Closer Jose Valverde made the team as one of the relief pitchers and Miguel Cabrera is a reserve. There was no doubt that Valverde and Cabrera would make the AL All-Star team, as Valverde's numbers are just ridiculous and Cabrera is an MVP candidate.
The fact that only two Tigers made the team means that Justin Verlander and Brennan Boesch were left out. Boesch's chances didn't seem great despite his awesome numbers, but I am a little surprised Verlander didn't make it. (By the way, former Tiger Omar Infante made the NL All-Star team. Talk about a surprise.)
The 2010 MLB All-Star Game will be held on Tuesday, July 13, in Anaheim.
