The Dontrelle Willis era in Arizona is over, and it came to an end just like the Willis era in Detroit.
↵↵↵The team designated the big left-hander for assignment Sunday and recalled young left-handed reliever Jordan Norberto from Triple-A Reno. In his brief time with Arizona, Willis had the same control problems that plagued him in Detroit.

I was really rooting for Willis to turn things around, but his career will not go anywhere as long as he has these control issues. In Detroit, I always thought it was a more mental thing for Willis, but for his pitching to be this wild, it has to be something more. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like a simple thing where you can fix his mechanics and that's it, otherwise he wouldn't be in this situation right now.
↵You wouldn't think pitchers forget how to maintain control of their pitches, but it certainly seems like Willis has and can't find a fix for his issues.
↵It will be interesting to see where his career goes from here, because I can't see another major league team taking a chance on him.
