A family spokesman says the 45-year-old died after collapsing with severe chest pains while on a boat on Lake St. Clair in the Windsor area.
He was rushed to hospital around 2 p.m. ET, according to family friend Rick Rogow.
Probert was on the boat with his family when he collapsed, according to the spokesman.
