The infamous Madden curse has claimed the careers of some and given others serious struggles after appearing on the cover of the game. Lions coach Jim Schwartz, however, believes in a different kind of Madden curse -- one based on his appearance in the game and what his kids thought of it.
↵↵↵“I don’t know,” he said. “The only thing I know about Madden is my kids were playing it last year and they said, ‘Daddy, you look fat in that game.’ So, if that’s a curse, then it’s probably true. I think they slimmed me down this year. I lost a little bit of weight. They were using some old photos or some old video.

Madden is usually pretty good with making the coaches and prominent players look just like they do in real life, but they're not perfect. Aside from apparently making Schwartz a little chubby last year, something is just off with Matthew Stafford's look in the game, as seen during the ridiculously-awesome Super Bowl celebration video. Stafford was featured on the field after the game, in the championship parade and at the White House with President Obama, but the look of his player was just a little weird if you ask me. It does resemble him, but something is up with the way the developers made his face look.
↵I will give the Madden team some credit, because they absolutely nailed the way Kyle Vanden Bosch looks. I'm not sure if they gave his player red contacts like he wears during games, but overall his appearance is exactly what he looks like in real life.
