The 133rd pick of the 2010 MLB Draft, Cole Green, turned down an offer of $300,000 from the Tigers. Green, a right-handed pitcher from Texas, just couldn't pass up a shot at a national title with the Longhorns and more importantly, a degree from the school.
Cole Green: "Tigers offered me $300,000. I felt a degree from #UT and a national championship were worth more than that."
The deadline to sign draft picks was at midnight last night, and the Tigers got a couple deals done just in time.
