Lions LBs Coach Matt Burke Makes 440-Foot Bungee Jump (VIDEO)

When the Lions had a couple weeks off earlier in the offseason, linebackers coach Matt Burke went on vacation. That isn't too out of the ordinary, as players and coaches alike use some of the down time to go back home or do some traveling or whatever.

For Burke, though, I think it's safe to say his time off was much more exciting than any other vacation. Why? Well, he spent two weeks hiking in New Zealand and went bungee jumping during the trip. Bungee jumping in itself is both thrilling and petrifying at the same time, but Burke's jump takes that notion to a new level, as he leaped off a platform 440 feet in the air. Luckily for us, the entire jump was captured on video and posted by the Free Press.

Gunther Cunningham got a hold of the video and played it at a defense meeting on the first day of training camp. Most players seemed to be stunned by the sight of their linebackers coach bungee jumping from 440 feet in the air, but Zack Follett and Caleb Campbell were intrigued by the idea and want to try it someday. That should come as no surprise considering Follett has such a crazy personality and Campbell is a military man, but if they do try it out next offseason, I hope Follett brings his camera along for the ride and makes a video about it. While watching Burke bungee jump was entertaining, I'd like to see what the Pain Train could do with a video like that.
