Austin White No Longer A Member Of Michigan Football Team

Late last week, rumors popped up that another Michigan football player had left the team. This time the rumors concentrated on running back Austin White, a true freshman who enrolled at U-M last January. Although the rumors that White had left the team were refuted by an official statement from Michigan, they kept popping back up and on Sunday, Rich Rodriguez confirmed that White had left the program.

"Austin White is no longer in the program. So, we wish him well, we'll help him in that regard, but we're - he's no longer part of the Michigan football family."

It's unclear what exactly happened that led to White's departure, but it seems that he didn't necessarily decide to leave on his own accord. White was one of the players without wings on his helmet when the Big Ten Network was at practice, so it's possible that he didn't do enough to earn his wings back and instead was sent packing. That's just speculation, though.

White is the second player to depart the team since practice began earlier this month. The other, Justin Turner, is reportedly going to transfer to West Virginia.
