Lions Move Up Kickoff For Final Preseason Game

The preseason is halfway over, and this weekend the Lions will make their exhibition debut at Ford Field against the Browns. Earlier this month, kickoff for that game was moved up a half-hour so NFL Network could broadcast the game live. Yesterday, the Lions' other home preseason game also received a change to the start time, with kickoff again being moved up a half-hour.

The Detroit Lions announced today that the game time for their home preseason game vs. the Buffalo Bills at Ford Field Thursday, September 2 has been changed to 6:30 p.m.

Although the game will begin at 6:30 p.m., it won't actually be shown on local TV until later that night because of a blackout. Nothing is official yet, but preseason blackouts are very common for the Lions and other teams, especially for the final preseason game. Aside from being on a Thursday evening, the starters will barely play, college football begins that night and to be honest, people are simply ready for real football, not games that don't count.

If you do want to check out the game in person, there will be plenty of tickets available. The same likely goes for this Saturday's game against Cleveland, which is expected to be blacked out as well.
