The Lions broke training camp on Wednesday, meaning players were able to check out of the team hotel. The practice schedule will now start to look more like the one they will have during the regular season.
Here are some other notes from the last few days:
- The Lions claimed offensive tackle Tyler Polumbus, who was recently waived by the Broncos. The Texans and Seahawks also put in a claim for him, but he was awarded to the Lions because their priority is higher.
- To make room on the roster for Polumbus, Trevor Canfield was placed on the waived/injured list.
- The Lions decided to move rookie Amari Spievey from cornerback to safety.
- Calvin Johnson returned to practice after missing only a day of action.
