Detroit, MI (Sports Network) - Mark Kotsay capped a huge performance with a two-run triple in the 11th inning to lift the Chicago White Sox over the Detroit Tigers, 6-4, in the finale of a four-game series at Comerica Park.
Kotsay went 3-for-5 with four RBI and finished a double shy of the cycle, while Juan Pierre added an RBI single for the White Sox, who took three of four in the series and have won nine of 11 overall.
Sergio Santos (1-0) picked up his first big league victory after tossing a scoreless 10th and 11th inning. White Sox starter Freddy Garcia yielded one run on five hits with four walks and struck out four over 6 2/3 innings.
