Former Michigan standout and current New York Jets receiver Braylon Edwards was arrested in New York this morning on a DUI charge. From the Detroit Free Press:

Edwards, who is from Detroit and played football for the University of Michigan, was pulled over on the west side of Manhattan about 5:15 this morning because his vehicle had excessive tinting on its windows, and officers noticed a strong smell of alcohol, said the official, who was not authorized to speak about the case and spoke on condition of anonymity.↵

When you look at the context of the situation, this isn't really all that surprising. The Jets were coming off a big win against rival New England on Sunday, so a little celebration is expected. Edwards himself had one of his better games as a Jet, catching five passes for 45 yards and a touchdown. He made the choice to drive himself home, which wasn't the best idea obviously. This certainly won't help the Jets' reputation after the alleged harassment of a Mexican TV reporter earlier this month.

Edwards is originally from Detroit and played for the University of Michigan from 2001-2004. He is Michigan's all-time leader in career receptions, yards, and touchdowns.
