Jonas Jerebko Of Pistons Checks Out Red Wings Training Camp

The Detroit Red Wings are well known for their many Swedish players, so it was cool that the Pistons added one of their own last year, drafting Jonas Jerebko in the second round. Jerebko had a solid rookie season for the Pistons in 2009-10 and became friends with many of the Wings' Swedish players during that time. He has kept in contact with them even after the seasons ended for the Wings and Pistons, and he got a chance to check out a Wings practice in Traverse City on Monday.

Friends invited Jerebko to Traverse City for the day Monday.

"I'm enjoying it," Jerebko said.

Jerebko was a hockey player from age eight to 16. Once he hit 16, the focus was strictly on basketball, which turned out to be a pretty good decision based on the face that he is now in the NBA.
