Kris Draper has been sidelined with a groin injury since Saturday. As a result, he missed the last few sessions of practice/scrimmages in Traverse City and is now hoping to get back on the ice in Detroit.
Forward Kris Draper, who hasn't skated since Saturday due to a pulled groin, said he will be skate Wednesday at Joe Louis Arena to see how he feels.
With the preseason set to get underway tonight in Pittsburgh, Draper's first chance to play in a game will be on Friday when the Blackhawks play the Red Wings in Detroit. The Wings head to Chicago a day later for another game and then host the Rangers on Sunday to wrap up the weekend. It will be interesting to see if Draper is able to go in any of those games, although it will likely come down to how today's skate goes.
