Week 9 NFL Power Rankings: Lions Climb To No. 7

The Lions stay in the Top 10 of the latest SB Nation NFL Power Rankings and can climb even higher if they keep playing as well as they did last week against the Broncos.

It's Tuesday and that means it's time for NFL power rankings. The Detroit Lions are coming off a 45-10 thrashing of Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos. The Lions defensive line suffocated anything the Broncos tried to do offensively and sacked Tebow seven times. Here is where the Lions rank in the latest SB Nation NFL Power Rankings:

7. Detroit Lions (6-2, LW: 8): The Lions snap a two-game losing streak and they'll play the Bears and Panthers before the big Turkey day game against Green Bay.

In the Lions two game losing streak, there offense struggled to get going. Against the Broncos defense, even hobbled with an ankle injury, quarterback Matthew Stafford was able to throw for 267 yards and 3 touchdowns. It's weird seeing the Lions ranked in the Top 10 in power rankings steadily, but this Detroit Lions team is proving to be one of the better teams in the NFL, one both sides of the ball.

In the NFL.com Power Rankings the Lions hold firm at the No. 9 spot.

At CBSSports.com, Pete Prisco released his NFL Power Rankings, moving the Lions up from No. 9 to No. 8.

Nothing like facing Tim Tebow to help right the ship. Matt Stafford showed his competitive fire by playing so well on an injured ankle.
