The Michigan State Spartans pushed their win streak to three games after beating the Wisconsin-Milwaukee Panthers 68-55 on Wednesday night as part of the Spartan Invitational.
Senior forward Draymond Green hit for a season-high 18 points to lead all scorers, and center Derrick Nix made 4-6 field goals to pace the Spartans reserves with 11 points on a night with more defense than offense from both teams.
Tom Izzo's crew improves to 3-2 after opening the season with two losses against high-profile opponents in North Carolina and Duke. Wisconsin-Milwaukee came into the game undefeated and falls now to 4-1.
While Michigan State only led 34-30 at halftime and the lead was never bigger than 16, the visiting Panthers also never led throughout the entire game.
Michigan State's next test is a road battle at 4-1 Eastern Michigan on Sunday, before hosting the 20th ranked Florida State Seminoles on Nov. 30.
