Little Caesars Pizza Bowl 2011: Purdue Vs. Western Michigan

The 2011 Little Caesars Pizza Bowl at Ford Field will feature 6-6 Purdue and 7-5 Western Michigan. The game is set for 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 27.

The 2011 Little Caesars Pizza Bowl is set. According to Mike Carmin, the Purdue Boilermakers will take on the Western Michigan Broncos on Dec. 27 at Ford Field.

This will be Purdue's second trip to Detroit for this bowl game. The last time the Boilermakers were there was in 2007. They took on Central Michigan in a wild game that had a final score of 51-48 in Purdue's favor. That year's game set the attendance record for this bowl (60,624), so I'm sure the folks at the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl are glad to have Purdue back.

The Boilermakers enter this year's game with a 6-6 record. Western Michigan, on the other hand, is 7-5. Purdue edged Indiana in its final game of the season to become bowl eligible, and it also has wins this season over Middle Tennessee, Southeast Missouri State, Minnesota, Illinois and Ohio State. The Broncos have been bowl eligible since mid-November, and this season they have beaten Nicholls State, Central Michigan, UConn, Bowling Green, Ball State, Miami (Ohio) and Akron.

ESPN will have the broadcast of the 2011 Little Caesars Pizza Bowl. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m. (Eastern Time) on Tuesday, Dec. 27.
