When the 2011 Big Ten tournament began, Ohio State was the favorite to win the championship. That was to be expected considering the Buckeyes are the top seed and have lost only twice all season. Keeping all of that in mind, it's no surprise they are moving on to the title game on Sunday following today's win over Michigan. What is surprising, however, is that their opponent will be Penn State. The Nittany Lions are the No. 6 seed, and after winning three games in three days, they are now set to play for the Big Ten tournament title.
Let's take a look at each team's road to the 2011 Big Ten tournament final.
Ohio State: beat Northwestern, 67-61 in OT, on Friday; beat Michigan, 68-61, on Saturday
Penn State: beat Indiana, 61-55, on Thursday; beat Wisconsin, 36-33, on Friday; beat Michigan State, 61-48, on Saturday
The championship game to close out the bracket will get started at 3:30 p.m. on CBS. After it comes to a close, the NCAA tournament selection show will begin at 6 p.m.
