The final eight spots in the 2011 NCAA tournament's Sweet 16 were decided on Sunday. Like all three of the previous days of the NCAA tournament's first weekend of action, there were upsets, close finishes and lots of excitement.

No. 11 Marquette def. No. 3 Syracuse
No. 1 Kansas def. No. 9 Illinois, 73-59
No. 10 Florida State def. No. 2 Notre Dame, 71-57
The Sweet 16 games will be played on Thursday and Friday, and the Final Four will be determined with the Elite Eight games on Saturday and Sunday.
