NCAA Tournament 2011 Scores: VCU, Kentucky Advance To Final Four

The 2011 Final Four is set. Following Butler and UConn advancing to the Final Four on Saturday, VCU and Kentucky did the same on Sunday. Yes, you read that correctly. VCU is headed to the 2011 Final Four. Despite being a No. 11 seed, having to play in the First Four and not even being deserving of an NCAA tournament bid in the minds of most, the VCU Rams are headed to Houston to play Butler in the Final Four.

Here is a look at the NCAA tournament scores from Sunday's two games.

No. 11 VCU def. No. 1 Kansas, 71-61

No. 4 Kentucky def. No. 2 North Carolina, 76-69

Like Saturday's games, Sunday's contests were similar. Unlike Saturday's games, the ones on Sunday didn't have finishes that featured last-second shots or anything like that. They were close near the end of the game, though.

VCU stormed out to a shocking lead in the first half and were up by 18 at one point. Kansas stormed back and got within four in the second half, but VCU responded by finishing off the Jayhawks with a stellar run at the end of the game.

In the other game, Kentucky held a lead for most of the second half. The Wildcats looked to be in position to win, as North Carolina had trouble sustaining runs long enough to completely close the gap. The Tar Heels did finally manage to tie the game as time was running out, but Kentucky, like VCU, responded with a tremendous run to end the game, leaving with a victory and earning a spot in the Final Four.
