Tigers At Orioles: Rick Porcello Makes His Season Debut

The Detroit Tigers salvaged a win from their season-opening series with the New York Yankees, slugging out a 10-7 victory on Sunday. The team will try to put together a winning streak, beginning with Monday's matinee in Baltimore for the Orioles' home opener.

However, Buck Showalter's team begins the season as one of the hottest teams in baseball, sweeping a three-game series from the Tampa Bay Rays over the weekend. This is the first time the O's have started out with three straight wins since the 1997 season, when they led the AL East from start to finish.

Rick Porcello makes his first start of the season for the Tigers. Last year, he was 3-7 on the road with a 5.73 ERA. Kid Rick has faced the Orioles twice in his young career, compiling a 1-1 record and 3.00 ERA in 12 innings.

Jake Arrieta gets the home opening nod for Baltimore. Last year as a rookie, he finished with a 6-6 record and 4.66 ERA in 18 starts. Arrieta faced the Tigers once last season, holding them to one run and seven hits.
