Auburn Hills, MI (Sports Network) - Chris Wilcox finished with a season-high 27 points and 13 rebounds, as Detroit topped Milwaukee, 110-100, in a matchup of two non-playoff clubs.
Rodney Stuckey posted 22 points while Tayshaun Prince poured in 16 with seven boards for the Pistons, who ended a four-game losing streak with a 116-109 win over New Jersey on Wednesday.
"He did a real good job," Stuckey said of Wilcox. "I think since we've come back from this All-Star break Chris has been playing really well for us. He's athletic, he can get up and down the court, and he's a presence around the rim."
Brandon Jennings had a game-high 31 points for Milwaukee, which has followed a win with a loss for the last six games. Ersan Ilyasova and Drew Gooden tallied 18 and 12 points, respectively, in the loss.
Before the game the Pistons learned they will have a new owner in the near future. Chairman and CEO of Platinum Equity and Michigan State alum, Tom Gores, reached a definitive agreement to acquire Palace Sports and Entertainment and Detroit Pistons Basketball Company from owner Karen Davidson.
The terms of the agreement are still subject to review and approval by the NBA's Board of Governors and is expected to pass by June.
In a close first quarter, Detroit pulled away late to take a 26-21 lead heading into the second.
The Pistons went up as much as 14 early in the second quarter, but Milwaukee pulled within two, 49-47, on Michael Redd's long jumper with 1:26 left to play. The home team, though, still held onto a 55-51 edge at the break.
Jennings scored the first bucket of the second half, however, the Pistons turned it on with a 9-0 run. Prince's alley-oop dunk from Richard Hamilton finished off the run with nine minutes left.
"They ran the floor well tonight," Jennings said. "They got a lot of buckets in transition and that's kind of how they got the lead and was able to come out with the victory."
Detroit claimed an 84-74 lead heading into the fourth and scored 10 of the final 14 points to pull out the win.
The Bucks announced on Friday that Andrew Bogut will miss the remainder of the season due to right elbow pain. He will undergo arthroscopic surgery to remove scar tissue and loose particles...Milwaukee will miss the playoffs for the fourth time in five years, while the Pistons will miss the postseason for the second year in a row after making it eight consecutive times...Detroit won the season series 3-1...Milwaukee has lost 15 of its last 19 contests at The Palace.
