First Look At Michigan's New Varsity Lacrosse Uniforms

As Sean Yuille posted at SB Nation Detroit over the past two days, the University of Michigan announced on Wednesday that it would add men's and women's lacrosse as varsity sports during the next two seasons. The men's program will move up to Division I beginning next season, while the women's program will make the move during the 2012-13 academic year.

WXYZ-TV's Tom Leyden attended the Wednesday press conference and posted a picture of the new lacrosse uniforms on his Twitter account. Here's how they look:

You can read plenty more on Wednesday's lacrosse press conference (laconference?) at Great Lax State. MGoBlog also took notes from the presser. And check out Mike Rothstein's story at AnnArbor.com.

Rothstein also posted video of an interview with men's club lacrosse coach John Paul, who's expected to retain his position when the team moves up to varsity status. The women's program will be looking for a new coach, as club lacrosse coach Jen Dunbar retired at the end of this past season.
