It didn’t take long for former Red Wings assistant Brad McCrimmon to land a new job.
↵McCrimmon has landed the head coaching job of Kontinental Hockey League club Lokomotiv Yaroslavl.
↵McCrimmon was an assistant in Detroit for three years under head coach Mike Babcock. The Wings and McCrimmon agreed to part way after his contract expired after this season. McCrimmon was thought by many to be responsible for the Wings’ defensive decline the past few seasons.
↵McCrimmon spent 18 seasons in the NHL as a defenseman and had been a coach since 1997. He takes over a Lokomotiv squad that features former NHL player Pavol Demitra and was the top seed in the KHL’s Western Conference playoffs this past season.
