Justin Verlander Goes For Seventh Win As Tigers Open Four Game Series With Seattle

Tigers ace Justin Verlander will try to tie teammate Max Scherzer with a team-leading seventh win tonight as Detroit opens a four-game set with Seattle. 

The Tigers will try to avoid going on another long skid after dropping the last game of a three-game series with Texas. The Tigers have won eight of 10 but have had a tendency to turn one loss into several so far this season.

Doug Fister takes the mound for Seattle. He lost his last start against Tampa despite giving up only three runs in seven innings, but helped the Mariners drill the Tigers 13-3 on April 19.
