Detroit Pistons Plane Lands Safely After Distress Call

The Pistons plane was required to make an emergency landing on Monday, but everybody is okay.

An airplane on a charter flight carrying the Detroit Pistons made a safe, emergency landing at Hobby Airport on Monday afternoon in Houston Texas, via KHOU.com.

The plane landed safely and without incident after an alarm for a hydraulic issue was sounded, according to Houston Fire Department officials.

Detroit Pistons team spokesman Kevin Gregg released a statement indicating that everyone on the plane was okay, via the Associated Press.

Airport spokesman Joshua Agunag says the aircraft with 44 passengers aboard landed without incident at 5:45 p.m. Monday and was able to taxi to a private air terminal, where passengers were let off.

The Pistons were arriving in Houston for a game against the Houston Rockets which is scheduled to start at 8:00 p.m. eastern on Tuesday.
