Red Wings Vs. Sabres Final Score: Detroit Tops Buffalo 5-0, Breaks Record

The Detroit Red Wings (29-15-1) glided gracefully and explosively to a franchise record in a 5-0 win over the visiting Buffalo Sabres (19-20-5) at Joe Louis Arena on Monday night.

Plenty of Red Wings shared the spotlight, as goals by Henrik Zetterberg, Johan Franzen, Niklas Lidstrom, Todd Bertuzzi and Darren Helm -- all within the first two periods of the game -- gave Detroit its franchise-record 15th straight win at home.

Jimmy Howard was also flawless in goal for Detroit, stopping all 26 shots.

The Red Wings, who have not lost at home since Nov. 3, now hit the road for a pair of games against the Dallas Stars and Phoenix Coyotes, before returning home to host the Columbus Blue Jackets and St. Louis Blues.

The Red Wings, who sport an 11-13-0 road record, are scheduled to play the Stars at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
