Detroit Lions kicker Jason Hanson scored 14 points Sunday in the Lions 26-23 overtime win over the Philadelphia Eagles, moving him past John Carney into third place on the NFL all-time scoring list.
Hanson now has 2,074 points, 12 more than Carney's 2,062. Hanson moved into the new spot early in the first quarter Sunday with a 46-yard field goal, which put Detroit on top, 3-0. But Hanson was not done for the day. He converted two extra points and three more field goals, including the game-tying 19-yard field goal with three seconds remaining in regulation and the game-winning 45-yarder in overtime.
Hanson's four field goals also moved him past Carney into third place on the all-time field goal list. Hanson's final kick moved his total 479, one ahead of Carney's career total of 478.
Hanson sits in third place on the all-time scoring list behind Morten Andersen and Gary Anderson. Morten Andersen has 2,544 career points, while Gary Anderson has 2,434.
