2012 BCS standings, Week 9: Michigan moves into ranks at No. 22

The Michigan Wolverines are ranked in the BCS standings for this first time this season, while Alabama still holds the top spot.

The Michigan Wolverines find themselves in this week's BCS rankings at No. 22 following their dramatic victory over intrastate rival Michigan State Saturday. Michigan was unranked in last week's standings.

The Alabama Crimson Tide hold the top spot for the second consecutive week following their 44-13 victory over Tennessee. Domination is the name of the game for the Crimson Tide through nine weeks. Alabama is 7-0 on the season, 4-0 in the conference, and has won every game this season by at least 27 points.

Following Alabama at No. 2 is the Florida Gators, who improved to a perfect 7-0 after their 44-11 drubbing of South Carolina. Florida and Alabama are not scheduled to face each other in the regular season, however, they could meet in the SEC Championship if they remain on top of their respective divisions throughout the season.

Kansas State, Oregon and Notre Dame round out the top five. No. 3 Kansas State and No. 4 Oregon swapped positions from last week, while No. 5 Notre Dame remained in the same spot.
