Giants vs. Tigers score: San Francisco, Detroit tied 3-3

The San Francisco Giants and Detroit Tigers are tied 3-3 after the first six innings of Game 4 of the 2012 World Series. Home runs have been a big story so far, with the teams combining to hit three.

The Giants scored the first run of the game when Brandon Belt knocked in Hunter Pence with a triple in the second inning, but Miguel Cabrera responded with a two-run home run in the third. The Giants were held scoreless until the top of the sixth, when Buster Posey hit a two-run home run of his own. That homer gave San Francisco a 3-2 lead, which would prove to be short-lived. Tigers slugger Delmon Young evened the score with a solo home run in the bottom half of the sixth.

Detroit starting pitcher Max Scherzer has eight strikeouts and one walk through six innings of work while allowing six hits. Giants starting pitcher Matt Cain has four strikeouts to go with two walks, and he has allowed five hits.
