Jahvid Best injury: Lions RB will undergo tests in Week 6, according to report

Detroit Lions running back Jahvid Best will undergo a series of tests to determine whether he is ready to return from the PUP list.

Andrew Weber-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Detroit Lions running back Jahvid Best will undergo a series of tests this upcoming week to determine whether the team will activate him off the PUP list, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Best was placed on the PUP prior to the regular season after dealing with concussion issues. He has been inactive since sustaining a concussion against the San Francisco 49ers on Oct. 16, 2011. Best must sit out six games because he was placed on PUP list, and if healthy, he will be eligible to return Oct. 28 when the Lions face the Seattle Seahawks. At a minimum, the Lions will play their Week 6 matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles and their Week 7 matchup with the Chicago Bears without Best.

Mikel Leshoure and Joique Bell have handled the Lions' running back duties with Best out. Kevin Smith has fallen down the depth chart and out of the running back rotation. He did not receive a snap in Week 4.
